Anker Soundcore Motion Q Waterproof Bluetooth Speakers

Anker’s new Soundcore Motion Q packs great 360 degree sound in a small package and is waterproof as well. Built with 2 full range drivers on the front and back and dual passive radiators on each side that produce a total of 16W to produce the 360 degree sound.

Aesthetics – Size wise, it is shorter than a can of soda and a little fatter. Bottom base is plastic ( there is a rubber flap that covers the Aux port and micro USB slot for charging as well as the built in microphone on the opposite side) and well as plastic on the top where the buttons are housed, while the rest is covered in a cloth type wrap with an area to use the enclosed wrist strap to tie and hang the speakers if need be.
Really basic to use with 5 buttons. On/off, pairing, volume up, volume down and play button.

Sound – the 360 degree sound is great for these speakers. I kept this in the middle of the patio table and the music sounded the same no matter where i stood around the table.
Indoors the sound was loud, i kept the volume mostly around 40%.
Outdoors on the deck,I kept the volume at 75% as it was more comfortable conversing without yelling across the table. This also comes with BassUp technology which i couldn’t really tell any difference when loud. At lower volumes it did sound a bit hollow.

Wireless Stereo pairing – This is a great feature if you have 2 Motion Q speakers as you can connect them together to have the stereo sound. I only have one Motion Q so can’t try this feature out.

Battery Life – the 2600mAh battery is rated to last 10 hours at 60% volume on a full charge. I was at about 40% volume and the motion Q lasted close to 15 hours. Charging time is rated at 3.5 hours at 1A and was pretty much spot on.

Connectivity – Pairs easily with my iPhone as well as my MacBook. Bluetooth version 4.2 is supported and if did find that when moving the Motion Q away from it’s source to a different room about 30ft did have issues as the music was cutting in and out. Siri worked fine as well and was really loud when tested with 75% volume. Phone sound quality on the speaker was loud and clear as well as for the other person on the line. They said that I did not sound hollow when speaking.

Waterproof – This is great for the outdoor parties at the beach, your pool or even if you leave it on your bathroom counter when showering. The speakers are IPX7 certified ( can be submerged in 1M of water for up to 30 min) so essentially you can take it in the water with you and not be scared that the water will destroy your speaker. I filled up the sink with water and played the Motion Q for around 10 minutes with no ill effects. Water did not seep though the rubber flap where the micro USB port is located. The cloth material as well wicked the water for the most part and dried fairly quickly.

Contents in the box – The Motion Q, wrist strap(looks more like a kids shoelace), micro USB cable, user manual as the standard happy card.

All and all for $50 this is a nice loud speaker with great 360 degree sound and also waterproof.
